Novel Excerpt #2

Hello all! I hope you have had a wonderful holiday weekend so far. I wanted to share a bit more of my novel with you today. I will be the first to tell you that I have a long way to go but I have so many ideas I need to get out of my head and onto the page! Then once they are all out, I’m sure I can fit them together into something that at least resembles a novel, right? Ah well. Here ya go. Let me know what you think.

It was after midnight when Carly sprang awake, screaming his name. Her dreams felt so real, so vivid. She could still smell him. Swore she could still taste his kiss. But all she could do was hold her pillow and cry. The tears fell like the rain outside her bedroom window. This dream was like all the rest. Like the day he told her it was over. He cried. She cried. They kissed goodbye. And he drove away. But not Carly. She couldn’t see through the tears filling her eyes. She couldn’t move. She was paralyzed with grief. The sadness racing through her veins. Somehow, she made her way back to her car as the falling leaves danced around her. He drove away with a piece of her heart that day. And he haunts her dreams at night.

Let me know what you think, good or bad! I need feedback from everyone.
