Blood, Sweat and Tears: A poem for my children.

Part of me flows through your veins, you are made from me.

My body gave you nourishment, while you swam so peacefully.

The sweat poured and the tears flowed as you came into this place.

I held you with tired arms and kissed your little face.

Many times I wanted to give up, and the tears came pouring down.

Now I cry in silence, never make a sound.

I may not always seem to know exactly what to do.

But trust me when I say, I do it all for you.

I give you all I’ve got to give.

I promise, you are the reason I live.

So believe me, little one, I know this to be true.

All of my blood, sweat and tears have been for you.
